Abstract: Using the commutative combination design of quadratic regression, the quantitative relationship between the disease index of tobacco brown spot and comprehensive farming measures(transplanting-date X1;the application of cake fertilizer X2;the application of potassium fertilizerX3)was studied during 1994 in Yuzhou county, Henan province. The results showed that the relationship between disease index and transplanting date(X1) can be expressed aparabola of maxinum.By changing transplanting date in order to avoid the epidem is season, disease level could be decreased. With increasing amount of cake fertilizer(X2)and potassium fertilizer (X3),the disease index also be reduced A mathem aticm odelof relation between disease index and farming measures was set up Y= 19.185+0.853X1-0.847X2-0 .640X3+0.8X1X3+1.8X2X3-3.17X12-1.407X22-0.912X32. According to this model, the best measure cambinations were found out.
