Abstract:
The fecundity and reprodunctive rate of Aphidius gifuensis parasitizing second and third instar nymph of Sitobion avenae were studied at six different host densities at constant temperature and humidity. The result showed that at the host density lower than 40 aphids supplied to per female per day,the number of eggs laid increased with host density and the oviposition was restrained due to the lack of host.Above this host density, the parasitoid laid on average 493.3-587.5 eggs. The number of aphids parasitized also increased with the host density and at the host density of 100 aphids per female per day,it reached 352.5.The rate of intrinsic increase varied with the host density and sex retio and at the host density of 100 aphids per female per day and sex ratio of 60%(♀/),it reached the value of 0.331.
