Studies on Fecundity of Aphidius gifuensis Ashmead

Abstract: The Aphidius gifuensis female lays eggs as soon as it emerges from the mummy.Its fecundity averages out to 417.5 eggs (297-568) .A total of 47.5 eggs are laid per day.Its average life span is 9 days (6-12) .The egg-laying peak comes 3 days after emergence.The eggs laid 1 to 5 days after emergence comprise 73% of the total egg production in its whole life.
