Abstract: Osmotic stress(PEG-6000 solution) and respiration inhibitors KCN,DNPcan induce high ratio of cell permeability in soybean hypocotyl, and DNP has the greatest effect in all of treatments. In each treatment,K+ is the main component in exudated substance.Under osmotic stress the respiration rate is decreased and cell permeability is correlated positively with the degree of osmotic stress, and negtively with the decrease of respiration rate and ATP contents. The causes of cell permeability are discussed in the paper.

Key words: Osmotic stress, Respiration inhibitors, Cell permeability, Respiration rate, Soybean
