A Study on the Biological Characteristics of the Tiger Moth Spilosoma Urticae

Abstract: In Beijing suburbs, the tiger moth Spilosoma urticae (Esper) breeds three generations in one year, with the pupa surving the winter。The tiger moth's food habit is omnivorousness and the host limit is widespread,it damages mainly the crops, the soya-bean, the vegetables, the fruits etc.The numbers of overwintering adults xilled by the moth-xilling lamp may forecast the severity degree of this year.
