Abstract: During 1985-1988 the present study was conducted based on principles of systematic ecology and aimed at controlling main diseases of cotton covered with film mulching. Results showed that as for Rhizoctonia rot, dressing seeds with quintozene could control root disease and dead seedlings effectively. As for Fusarium wilt of cotton, on the basis of planting wilt-moderately-resistant varieties, seed dressing with Quintozene was used to reduce the effect of natural Fusarium moniliforme on the wilt. The integrated controlling effect reached the level of highly resistant varieties. In respect of boll diseases, removing the buds on 3 lower fruit branches or the 3 lower fruit branches can improve the boll forming structure and deteriorate the ecological situation for causing diseases, thus significantly reducing boll diseases and greatly increasing the cotton yield.
