Abstract: In this study BJ-17,BJ-18 and M-00110 were chosen as experimental material to study the change of physiological index, such as membrane permeability, chlorophyl, proline and malonaldehyde (MDA) contents in the seedling of sweet sorghum under different concentrations of polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) stress. The results showed: the membrane permeability, chlorophyl, proline and malonaldehyde(MDA) contents in the seedling of sweet sorghum increased under the osmotic stress. There were lower increase extent in the BJ-18 and higher increase extent in the M-00110,BJ-17 was in the middle. It was showed the osmotic stress-tolerant ability was different in different variety of sweet sorghum. This study provides a basis for sweet sorghum planting and breeding with osmotic stress resistance.
