Abstract: The grain protein contents of four genotypes clones which were derived from immature inflorescences of haploid, mature embryo, subcultured anther calli and immature inflorescences of diploid varied. considerably, and were 12. 14- 21. 33%, 13. 98%-20.51%. 13.82-1.97% and 16. 62-22. 16%, respectively. The grain protein variation of clonal seed occured at early generation. The high-protein characteristics from clones are heritable. Five new lines which contain over 19% grain protein have been obtained from the clones of immature inflorescences of haploid.
