Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate effects of Bacillus magaterium 1259 adding on production performance and egg quality of laying hens.A total of 240 Hy-line variety brown laying hens aged 450 days were randomly divided into 2 groups with 6 replicates per group and 20 hens per replicate.Experimental groups were Control group (basal diet) and treatment (basal diet add 2×106 cfu/g bacillus magaterium 1259).After feeding for 28 days, the egg quality and serum biochemical indexes were detected respectively. The results showed that, compared with control group, feed intake significantly increased in treatment (P<0.05),and the ratio of feed to egg significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05);The egg shell color of the treatment was significantly darker than the control group (P<0.05);Hemoglobin concentration in treatment was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05),while the concentration of triglyceride and cholesterol were significantly lower(P<0.05);The concentration of triglyceride and cholesterol in egg yolk were significantly lower in treatment than the control group(P<0.05).Taken together, diets adding with Bacillus magaterium 1259 had certain improvement to production performance and egg quality of laying hens in the late period in the present study.
