Abstract: A total of 192 accessions of garlic from different areas in China were evaluated on 8 main quantity morphological characters(Bulb high, bulb diameter, bulb weight, clove high, clove back width, clove number, shortened stem height, and shortened stem diameter)which attribute to bulb yield.Based on basic statistic, principal components analysis, relative and principal coordinates analysis, the results showed that the garlic clones from China had a widely diversity among all 8 characters. The bulb weight showed a widest diversity following with clove high and clove number;principal components analysis showed the cumulative proportion of first three components was up to 74.83%,three characters(bulb weight, bulb diameter and clove number) were included in the first components which could be most important traits affecting the bulb yield;relative analysis suggested that bulb yield was significantly relative with seven of eight characteristics except clove back width, and highly relative with bulb diameter with the relative coefficient of 0.726 9.We divided all garlic clones into 6 categories(highest, higher, middle, lower, low, and lowest) according to the yield and the analysis of principal coordinates.Besides,we selected out three accessions with yield above 15×103kg/ha.
