Abstract: Virus induced gene silencing(VIGS)offers a rapid and high-throughput technical platform for gene function analysis using Barley stripe mosaic virus(BSMV)-based vectors in wheat. In this paper,we report optimization of BSMV induced gene silencing in NIL TcLr24 in order to carry out VIGS in wheat.

Key words: BSMV, Virus-induced gene silencing, Gene function characterization
