Abstract: By analyzing the data derived from field test and the indoor test, the potatoes′magnesium absorption and distribution regular pattern was studied. The results showed:During all the growth stages, the magnesium content in different organs were:leaves > stems>roots (or tubers). As the growth stage advanced, the accumulated absorption of magnesium in the whole plant met a curve of quadratic function, and the maximum quantity of stage absorption appeared in the stage of tuber initiation(between 31 to 40 days after the seedlings emergence);with the advancement of growth stages and the switch of growth center, the distribution of magnesium in different organs changed as well, during all the growth stages, magnesium mainly distribute to leaves and stems but few to roots and tubers, and magnesium was stored in stems and leaves mainly when it was harvested. To achieve the yield level of this study,3.860 kg magnesium was needed to be absorbed to produce 1 000 kg tubers.
