Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of sowing rates, sowing forms, and varieties on the canopy structure and yield in alfalfa. The results showed that there were significant differences in level structure characteristic coefficient except plant canopy extinction coefficient, and there were significant differences in yield characters except plant height. There were significant differences in vertical structure characteristic coefficient in the same treatments, and there were significant differences in stem weight, leaf weight, and total weight. From the viewpoints of canopy parameters, treatment 5 and treatment 6 were better than any other treatments and obtained higher yield in this study.
