Abstract: Two types of summer maize hybrid were measured for the amount of absorption, accumulation and part-itioning of copper in di fferent organs during the growth and development. The results showed that the concentration of copper in corn plant decl ined as plant developing. Absorption of copper was lower at seedling stage and increased rapidly after elongation, then decl ined slowly during grain filling period. Copper accumulated mainly in leaf laminae and grains for matured plant. No signi ficant di fference was found for absorpt ion amount per plant between the two hybrids, and the di fference for the amount absorbed per hectare was mainly due to the di fference of plant density.
