Abstract: The results of studies on six maize varieties without irrigation showed that high yield maize varieties had bigger LAI.It declined slowly and kept above 2.0 at mature. The leaf area duration(LAD) after anthesis obviously improved and increased evenly 46.8% more than the low yield's.Total LAD was correlated notably with yield(r=0.8867).The leaf photosynthesis rate rose.Dry matter accumulation increased and extro transferred amount decreased. The total number of spikes were not correlated evidently with yield. But the number of kenel per plant were positively significant correlated with canopy yield(r=0.8747).
