A Study on Growth and Development of Different Cucumber Varieties in Protected Culture

Abstract

Abstract: The growth and development of different cucumber varieties during autumn winter and winter spring season in protected culture were studied.The results indicated that:the Europe Asia hybrid strain has an advantage in growth,the fruit set and root system activity were higher than other cucumbers under faint light,the yield was obviously higher than the Asian's,the average yield was increased by 25.8% in winter spring and 27.6% in autumn winter.Although the Europe system cucumber has an advantage in numbers of female flower,the yields were different among varieties.
