Abstract: Methods of indoor culture and greenhouse pot culture tests was adopted to conduct continuous potassium exhaustion experiments so as to study soil potassium form, content and supply capacity in cinnamon soil and chao soil zones of Hebei province. The results showed that the available potassium contents in cinnamon soil and chao soil zones was on the middle level or higher. There was no significant difference between these zones. But the slow release potassium contents in eastern part of Hebei province was significantly lower than that in the middle and southern parts of this province. For the exhausion culture experiments, available potassium content would appear the “lowest level value” after consumption. The source of patassium absorbed by crops came partly from available potassium, mainly from slow release potassium. The actual storage of potassium was an important mark of soil potassium supply capacity.
