Abstract: The method of three factors guadratic Saturation D-opeimum design was adopt in this e;;periment. The kernel dry matter change regularity in kernel establishment period ofspring maize and the influency of seeding date, density, nitrogen application on kernel estab-lishment were studied. The results showed that the dry matter accumulation procedure in ker-nel establishment is as "S"curve. By cluster analysing, the kernel establishment procedure aredivided into exponential-grow period 19 days after pollination), linear-grow period2o--43days after pollination), slow-grow period 44 days after pollination until harvesting period). The rate of kernel dry matter accumulation showed a single peak curve, but the peak value oflater seeding date, high density, high fertilizer application quantitation was smaller. In thelater period, the rate of kernel dry matter accumulation decreased quickly., The Exponential-grow period of kernel dry matter accumulation was prolonged at treatment oflater seeding date, its linear-grow period is shorten, and yield cut down.
