Abstract:
The key factors influencing on rapid propagation of mulberry through meristem culture were studied using its by young stem tip as explant. The results showed that subcul-turing the explant on the lower pH and soft agar medium on which there was a filter paper supporting the meristem could overcome the harmful effect of explant browning on differentiation; increasing concentration of BA (15 mg/L) on the medium without inositol could promote the germination and propagation; using the method of "domestication and selection " and taking cane sugar instead of fluctose as carbon source could decrease the culture coust greatly; using IAA and IBA cooperatively could raise the root-forming frequency to 100%; increasing light and decreasing temperature combined with whole day illumination and spraying before trasplant could make the survival rate of the transplant reach to above 95%.
