DETECTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF VEGETABLE SEED-BORNE FUSARIUM SPECIES

Abstract: Seeds of 79 samples of 19 vegetables from Beijing were tested by blotter testing method.Fusarium dimerum,F.equiseti,F.monili forme,F.oxysporum.F.se-mitectum and F.solani were six commonly recorded vegetable seed-borne Fusarium species.F.oxysprum and F.solani were two serious vegetable pathogens in Bei-jing area.The other four species have not yet been reported on field occur ranee.Another attempt has been made to identify the six species of Fusarium as they appear in blotter test on vegetable seeds.The main idea behind these studies was to establish workable diagnostic colony characters of the six species on the seed itself.These characters can be utilized for quick identification.
