Effects of Different Magnesium on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Flue-cured Tobacco

Abstract: A solution experiment was carried out to study the effects of different Mg concentration(0-16 mmol/L) on growth and nutrient uptake of flue-cured tobacco.The results showed that right Mg concentration promoted height,maximum leaf area,stem,dry matter weight in root,dry matter weight in stem,dry matter weight in leaves significantly increase.The said parameters were significantly decreased in low Mg concentration(0-1 mmol/L) and high(8-16 mmol/L).Mg concentration had no significantly influence on leaves quantity and N content.Mg concentration(2-8 mmol/L) increased significantly P content but low(0-1 mmol/L)or high(16 mmol/L) Mg concentration decreased P content of flue-cured tobacco.Mg concentration(1-4 mmol/L) increased significantly K content but high Mg concentration decreased K content of flue-cured tobacco.Ca contents of flue-cured tobacco were significantly decreased but Mg contents were significantly were increased along with Mg concentration increase.Ca contents were significantly negative correlation with Mg contents.
