Abstract: A field experiment was conducted in Alpine area of North China to study the photosynthetic characteristics with Glehnia littoralis, and ECA-PB0402 photosynthesis closed system and pocket PEA were used in the study. The results showed that:Glehnia littoralis Pn showed a two peaks curve.when the soil with adequate moisture and fertilizer on summer sunny days, peak in 10:00 and 16:00.The net photosynthesis rate appear in 10:00,the light saturatio point was 2 070.0 p,moL/(m2·s),The light compensation point was 181.2 ILLmol/(m2·s),AQY decreases Was 0.078 1,the maximum PSII photochemical efficiency(Fv/Fm)of Glehnia littoralis leaf was declined to about 0.51 at 1400 in sunny days.declined about 39%compared to the maximum value. The conclusion is that under tlIe natural sunny conditions Glehnia littoralis showed a photosynthesis rest in midday and occurred some photoinhibition at noon, it is a typical positive plant, adaptability of sunlight,Better light conditions of the land should be selected,to increase the production of Glehnia littoralis.
