Abstract: Two Trichoderma viride strains, M3 and Tv04-2, were identified from sixteen Trichoderma strains that showing strongly antagonist activity to Phytophthora nicotianae of Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. by antagonistic tests, and the pathogen-inhibition ratio were 83.2% and 78.2%, respectively. Further research showed that, the bio-control effect of Trichoderma strain M3 against Phytophthora nicotianae was higher than Trichoderma strain Tv04-2 significantly. Results indicated that Tridroderma viride strain M3 having expecting biocontrol potential, and can be used as a biocontrol candidate to Phytophthora nicotianae of Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq.
