Abstract: Hydroponics of the full growth season in green houses was used to study the effect of chloride on activities of Nitrate reductase, Invertase, Glycolate oxidase and chlorophyll content of tobacco leaves.Six kinds of chloride concentration have been made in the experiment 0, 0.5, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, 32.0 mmol/L.The results showed that both the activities of Nitrate reductase and Glycolate oxidase decreased with the increase of chlorine concentration. The invertase activity was on a higher level under the condition of proper chloride (0.5~4.0 mmol/L ) and decreased in the full increment stage under the condition of deficient chloride(ck) and excessive chloride(4.0 mmol/L).Chlorophyll content was still on a high level at later growth stage under the condition of excessive chloride, which is unfavorable to normal maturity of tobacco leaves.
