Abstract: The experiment on the possibility of wheat, oat, corn, and sorghum for sporulation of Alternaria brassicae showed that the sterilized wheat and corn grains were suitable media for sporulation. The highest quantity of sporulation was obtained with the wheat grain, while a longer and more stable sporulation was obtained with corn grain. Therefore, the corn grain was the optimal medium for sporulation of A. brassicae. Wheat grains cultured for 9 days under the UV light and fluorescent illumination for over one hour obviously increased the quantity of sporulation. The highest rates of sporulation were obtained when the wheat grain was treated under tge UV-light for 2 hours or under the fluorescent light for 2 to 12 hours. The total output of sporulation under the fluorescent light was higher than that under the UV-light. Through this research, a suitable technique was found for the screening of Chinese cabbage germplasms which are resistant to A. brassicae.
