Abstract: IGFN1 is a complex locus that codes for multiple splicing variants of Immunoglobulin-and Fibronectin-like domain containing proteins predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle. IGFN1 mainly plays a role in protein translation, muscle cell differentiation, skeletal muscle contraction and cytoskeletal stability. This paper mainly reviews the research progress of structural features, expression in animals, regulation of the gene expression, signaling pathway of IGFN1 and the relationship between oxidative stress and IGFN1 expression in recent years, so as to provide information for the study of the mechanism of skeletal muscle fiber type conversion. Furthermore, this project will provide the scientific basis for stress damage repair, and is significant for improving the quality of pork.

Key words: IGFN1, Skeletal muscle, Stress, MAPK signaling pathway, Myostatin
