Abstract: A HPLC method was developed for determination of chlortetracycline (CTC) residues in chicken excrement in this study for the establish of detection method of the antibiotics residues in environment, and offered reference for the environmental risk evaluation system. The chicken excrement samples were extracted with extraction solution and filtrated, then ready to detect. ZORBAX SB-C18 was used for stationary phase, whereas the mobile phase comprised 7710% oxalic acid, 11.5% methanol and 1115% acetonitrile. CTC residues in chicken excrement were detected by VWD at wavelength of 375 nm. The calibration curves for CTC was linear in a concentration range of 011- 1010 Lg/mL (r2= 0.999 8). The recoveries at levels of 0.5, 0.8, 2.0 and 10.0 mg/ kg fortified samples ranged from 71.46% -98.01% with coefficient of variation of intra-assay and inter-assay were 0.89% - 4.72% and 1.94% - 7.94% respectively. The limits of detection were 015 mg/ kg.
