Abstract: In this paper, the studies on the anatomical structures of 2 sesame cultivars "ji-1 sesame"and "Liao-1 sesame"respectively under 2 cultivative way?double-stem"and "single-stem"were made in the seedling stage,and the flourish flowering stage in Shenyang in 1997. The results showed that the apical meristem of the seedlings first differentiated 2 leaf primordium and then 2 axillary bud primordium which finally become the 2 axillary buds which were 2 latent buds with vascular bundles in the 2 leaf axils. The results of the study also showed that the "double-stem" cultivation liberated the 2 axillary buds and made them become a " double-stem". The anatomical structure of "Liao-1 sesame"under"double-stem"cultivation way in flourish flowering stage showed that in the stem blow the part where a "double-stem" was formed and the double stems had branched each other there were 4-5 abnormal nascent tissues which became 4-5 ab-normal vascular bundles after. These abnormal vascular bundles can stregthen the abilities of the supporting and transporting to some extent. But the anatomical structure of "Liao-1 sesame"under "single-stem"cultivation way proved that there were no abnormal nascent tissue and abnormal vas-cular bundle in the stem. The appearance of both abnormal nascent and abnormal vascular bundles reflected the unity of the inner structure,outer morphological character and the functional charac-teristics in plants.
