Abstract:
Four Pasteurella multocida strains(TJ strains)were selected from more than twenty Pasteurella multocida strains which were isolated from poultry farms of Tianjin region during the outbreak of fowl cholera and were used to develop an oil emulsion inactivated vaccine.The prepared inactivated vaccine was tested for physical properties and for safety and immunity.The oil emulsion inactivated vaccine(TJ strains)against fowl cholera was inoculated to more than one hundred thousand layers on affected poultry farms in Dagang and Jinghai region of Tianjin.The inactivated vaccine was proved to be very effective in preventing and controlling the fowl cholera.
