Abstract:
Immunity was stimulated in chickens vaccinated with 5×106 CFU bacteria of the attenuated strain Clone89 of pasteurella multicida. Vaccination and application doses were 10 ×106 and 30×106. CFU bacteria respectively. Eighty percent chickens vaccinated with application dose were protected when challenged by 30 live bacteria of virulent strain 24 hours postinoculation. Lasting immunity was generated 72 hours post-inoculation. When challenged by 100 live bacteria of virulent strain 125 days post-inoculation, 60 percent chickens were protected.
