Abstract: It was measured that grain formation and milking intensity of different winter wheat strains grown in different sandy soil and under different irrigating and fertilizing conditions. The results showed that the milking period of winter wheat grown in sandy land is short,(15-17 days in general),and its milking intensity is great. But it takes fewer days (about 30 days)from flowering to ripening and its thousand grain weight is low.Per unit area dry weight of boot leaf three upper internodes has a significant negtive correlaton with thousand grain weight, while those of the second and third inverse leaves have no significant corretation with thousand grain weight. It is difficult to enhance filling intensity as increasing irrigating amount. Therefore, low irrigating quota and high irrigating frequency should be taken.Application of organic manure can prolong the filling period and increase the filling intensity and thousand grain weight.
