Abstract: Some biological and ecological characteristics of Amblyseius fallacis were studied. The temperature range of 11.23-36℃ is suitable to its development but the temperature above 30℃ could reduce a half of its fecundity. Humidity above 70% RH satisfy its development and reproduction. Low egg hatch rate at low humidity is a main reason affecting the survival rate of A, f allacis, but the experiment indicated that low humidity obstructed the hatch of larva other than development of embryo. High hatch rate could reach if suitable humidity was given in last 7-10 hours of egg stage. Both Tetranychus viennensis and T.cinnabarinus were preferably preyed on and could satisfy the requirement of A, f allacis development and reproduction. The oviposition quality and developmental speech of A, f allacis feeding on pollen of apple and peach were not significantly different from that of feeding on prey mites. It is considered that A, f allacis may settle in apple production area of the Bohai sea bay according to its requirements for the environment and ecological conditions of apple orchards of northern part in China.
