Abstract: The optimal dosage, administering route and form of albendazole for treating swine trichinosis were screened. The drug was given to the pigs infected with trichineila spira-lis in different doses and forms,p.o.or i.m.administration.Of the 62 pigs given the drug,14 received albendazole as an additive at the concentration 300ppm were free from T.spiralis.It was shown that the parasiticidal rate was 100%.The best period of treatment was 10 days. The histological change of the host muscular tissues was also discussed. The cyst which surrounds the killed T.spiralis muscle larva was firstly calcified, and then the worm. Some time later, the calcified worm was organized by connective tissues. The muscular tissues injured by the larvas were repaired with regenerated muscular fiber cells at last. These processes were completed about 6 months.
