Abstract: According to the problem of concurrent business in agriculture which arose after the reform of farming contract responsibility system related to the production in rural areas' achieved success and with the development of commodity economy,this paper mainly discussed the role and advantages of concurrent business in rural areas,and the insurmountable shortcomings in the concurrent business agriculture as well as the possibility of hesitation and shrink in agriculture and grain production resulted from the concurrent business in the initial stage of socialism.In the paper authors advanced that the productivity should be actively developed,the proper scaly management in planting line should be timely carried out,investment of agricultural materials and techniques should be increased,and the scientific and technologic quality of peasants should be enhanced in the economically developed areas.Thus' the incomes from both farming and trade would be relatively balanced.This is a fundamental way to prevent agriculture from stagnation and hasitation and to develop it further.It is suggested that the scale management of agriculture should be developed in line with local condition according to the level of economy and technique and the condition of labour force construction,and should be ensured in land,tax,financial credit,price and other aspects.
