Abstract: Zengcheng teaching and research station of South China agricultural university, which located in thetypical area of lateritic red soil, was chose as the study site, and the variability of 12 soil fertility properties werestudied under 4 tillage modes. Results showed that, total N, P, K, available N contents and EC were affected by tillage mode. And then clay, organic matter and other indicators would be influenced. And principal component analysisshowed that, paddy land management mainly changes the total potassium, available phosphorus and porosity, paddyupland rotation management mainly impact pH, dry land management changed bulk density, organic matter, total nitrogen and potassium mostly, vegetable plot management largely affected the electrical conductivity, clay, total phosphorus and available nitrogen. Significant differences in soil properties were observed among tillage modes.
