Abstract: According to population biology theories, phenotypic diversity of eleven populations of Caragana korshinskiiKom. in China were selected and invest igated. The results showed that there was an abundant phenotypic diversity(H^'= 2.019 0) among these populations in 11 morphological characters such as leaves, pods and seeds. As for the distribution pattern of phenotypic diversity, the genetic variation among population(80163%) was greater than within populations (19.37%) which was decided by its outcrossing-insect breeding system. Phenotypic diversity of this species distributed over every region was different, whose turn was Ningxia region (H^'= 1.706 8) > Inner Mongolia region (H^'=1.631 6) > Shaanxi region > (H^'= 1.624 7) > Shanxi region(H^'= 1.602 5).
