Abstract: Interspecifichybrids between autotetraploid Sorghum (S.bicolor L. Moench) and Johnsongrass (S.halepense L. Pers) were produced. The morphological characteristics, heterosis and the forage value of interspecifichybrid were performed. The results showed thathybrids exhibited greatheterosis on growth potential and biomass (70.0%~90.0%). No evident differences were observed from F1 to F3hybrid withhigh biomass compared to parents, and the low generationhadhigh forage quality.
