Abstract: The contents of seven elements Cu,Zn,Fe,Mn,Ca,Mg and K in leaves wereanalysed at seven different growth stages in three varieties of hawthorn. The results indicatedthat the contents of each element, except Cu and Mn,were different in different varieties.Higher amounts of Zn,Fe and K were found in Mianzha and higher Ca content in Dajinxing, and lower contents of Zn,Mn,Ca,Mg' and K in Changkou. The seasonal variation of Cu,Mn,Ca,Mg and K contents in leaves was nearly same in different varieties and Z.n and Fecontents changed only at early growth stages in different varieties. The results has suggestedthat different nutrient diagnosis standard should be taken for different variety, and the mostsuitable period for mineral nutrition diagnosis with the help of the leaf analysis should lastfrom lulu 10th to lulu 30th.
