Abstract: Microspore embrycgenesis was induced by performing anther culture on four winter cauliflower genotypes. The most important improvement of embry-ogenesis was obtained on the culture medium containing 125mg/l silver nitrate. The addition of active charcoal at a low concentration (0.5g/l) increased the frequency of microspore embryogenesis. The 5g/l concentration led to poor yields. The gelifiant agent seems to have a strong effect on cmbryogenesis, in that the medium solidified with agar led to limited embryogenesis for only one genotype, whereas the medium solidified with agarcse could induce embryogenesis for all genotypes.
