Abstract:
Immuno-microspheres for detection of swine trichinosis had been prepared from soluble antigen of trichinella spiralis covalently bound to polystyrene micro-spheres by carbodiimide reaction.117 sera of pigs, rabbits and rats infected experimentally with trichinella spirallis from our Laboratory and sera of pigs from epidemic area were detected with the immuno-microsphere agglutination test.Detecting results showed that the immuno-microsphere agglutination test had a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 100% for detection of animal trichinosis infected experimentally. The positive rates of identity of the immuno-microsphere agglutination test were 100% and 97.25% identical with that microscopic section and digestion of muscles for postslaughter respectively. On the positive rates of detection the sensitivity of immuno-microsphere agglutination test increased 9.17% and 25.26% compared with that of digestion and microscopic section of muscles for postslaughter respectively. It has been demonstrated that the immuno-microsphere agglutination test is a simple, quick, sensitive and specific serological method for detection of swine trichinosis.
