Abstract: In tne experiment, some plant hormone activities of the alkaloids isolated from sophora alopecuroides L. were determined by bioassays. The results indieate that the quinolizidines from S. alopeCuroides L. have plant growth-stimulating activities distinctly. These alkaloids obviously enhanced the expansion of excised cucumber cotyledon and increased their dry weight. Furthermore, after a period of time, they promoted the rooting of excised cucumber cotyledons
