Abstract: Three winter wheat cultivars with different types of qualities,GC8901(strong gluten cultivar),YM49(medium gluten cultivar)and LM1(weak gluten cultivar)were planted in the soil pool,to investigate their dynamic changes of activities of key enzymes involved in sucrose metabolism in leaf, sheath, stem and kernel during grain filling.Main results indicated that the changes of SPS and SS activities in the leaves, sheaths, stems and kernels of three wheat cultivars during grain filling all presented a single-peak curve.SPS activity was higher in flag leaf, flag leaf sheath and kernel of YM49,but it was higher in flag leaf node of LM1.SS activity in flag leaf, flag leaf sheath, flag leaf node and kernel of YM49 was higher than that of the other two cultivars. This showed that sucrose synthesis and degradation metabolism in the nutritive organs and kernel of YM49 and LM1 was active.
