Abstract: The effect of APM on cell division and microtubule funct ion at cy tolog ical and Immunbiochemical level were studied. The ex periment result s indicated that multipolar cell division, unequal cell division could be induced when root meristems were treated by 10 ..mol/ L APM for 16 h. Immun-biochemical test ing show ed that spindle f ibers were condensed and lost their regular arrangement tow ard the tw o poles. Abnormal cell division w as induced because the funct ion of spindle f ibers w as disturbed. It w as necessary to further study the genetic toxicity mechanism of APM on the cell division. It could be valuable in agriculture using phosphoric amide herbicide safely. Key words: Phosphoric amide herbicide; Multipolar cell division; Genet ic tox icity; Immun-biochemist ry; Agro-environmental protection。
