Abstract: Two studies were conducted by using nine wethers to test the effects of zinc methionine on rumen fermentation and immune response.E xperiment results showed that:(1) pH value was lower in zinc Methionine group;(2 ) NH3-N concentrations of the zinc oxide and zinc methionine groups werehigher than the control group;(3) Amino acid contents of rumen fluid were not significantly affected by different zinc sources, but amino acid contents entering intestine were significantly affected, intestinal Cys,Gly,His,Met and Tyr contents in zinc methionine group were significantlyhigher than those of the zinc oxide and control groups, this shows certain rumen bypass of zinc methionine.Immune responses were significantly increased by using zinc methionine.
