Abstract:
F2 to F4 generations of two interspecific progenies of soybeans were taken as materials for studying the seed selection responce on the basis of seed size and its influence on other characters. The experimental results showed that when progenies of soybean interspecific crossing were employed for larger seed size selection, the plant became shorter and thicker, the lodging index decreased, and yield traits improved, indicating that seed size was an important character. The stratification selections for seed size were measured by the performance of F4 selected materials based on their seed size ranks in the F2 generation, and the differences between the materials were present, suggesting that the stratification selection for seed size in F2 was adaptable.
