Abstract: The correlation analysis and path analysis of the main quantity characteristics of fruit of pumpkin (C. maxima)were studied in this paper. The correlation coefficient between the seeds per fruit and the other characters of the fruit are as follows; the average fruit weight (0.8765) >the fruit width (0.8622)>the fruit length(-0.7472)> seeds length (0.5694)> seeds width (0.4284) >the weight of a thousand seeds(-0.0604). The main factors the seeds yeild per fruit are as follows:width of the fruit(0.4749)>weight of the fruit(0. 3638)>width of the seeds (0.2122) > length of the fruit(-0.1741)>length of the seeds(-0.1257)>the weight of a thousand seeds(-0.0472). The seeds yeild per fruit positively effected by the width of the fruit, average weight of the fruit otherwise the negative effected by the length of the fruit. So the width and weight of the fruit could be as the selected characteristics in breeding of the pumpkin seeds used variety and pay attention to the adverse effects of the length of the fruit.
