Population Distribution of Heliothis armigera on Different Host Crops

Abstract: The population distribution of cotton bollworm (Helio this armigera) in south area of Hebei province was observated from 1991 to 1994.The results showed that 99.6% of amount of egg of the first generation was distributed in wheat field, 84.9% of that of the second generation, in cotton field.The distribution of egg of the third generation was that,47.6%,in cotton field,44.9%, in corn field, and 7.5%, in bean, peanut and sweet potato fields.The distribution of egg of the fourth generation was that, 3.6%, in cotton field, 34.6%, in corn field, and 11.8%, in bean, peanut and sweet potato fields.The distribution percentage of larvae in these crops was different from that of egg.In the corn field the distribution of larvae population was obviously less than distribution of egg.The distribution ratio of larvae population has reduced in the cotrolled cotton field.
