Endogenous Phosphorus Outputs and the True Phosphorus Digestibility in Ruminants

Abstract

Abstract: This article has reviewed the phosphorus metabolism and phosphorus homeostasis in ruminants.There arethree main methods measuring the endogenous outputs and the true digestibility of phosphorus, including 32P radioisotope ,linear regression analysis technique and difference assay.Finally the influence of dry matter intake,phosphorus intake,thesecretion of salivary phosphorus and the absorption efficiency on the endogenous outputs and true digestibility of phosphorushas also discussed.
