Abstract: Nitrogen is one of essential nutrition elements for ruminant. Protein metabolism is virtual nitrogenmetabolism. Studies on intraruminal recycling of microbial of ruminant are benefit to reflect the protein metabolism of ruminant, and to improve ut ilization of preformed protein and reduce the pollution resulted from excessive nitrogen of rum-inant feces. It is useful to perfect protein recycling system, revise protein feeding systems and formulate rations rationally. So this article reviewed nitrogen recycling of microbial, research methods and the factors influencing microbial nitrogen recycling.

Key words: Ruminant, Ruminalmicroorganisms, Nitrogenrecycle, Isotopictracer
