Abstract: The breeding procedure and the key culture technics for the new variety W anpin 28 were related,and its high-and-stable-yielding ability was analysed.Wanpin 28 has following advantages; 1.Ideal plant types 2,Optimum allocation of three elements for high yield (panicle number per mu, filled grain number per panicle and 1000-grain Wight;3,Earlier heading date and longer filling period; 4,Higher adverse resistance and better adap tability to unfavourable circumstances， 5,Good grain quality, Its yield is high and stable, generally, the grain yield is 550-600kg加u, and the maximum comes up to 750-800kg/mu, The yield is higher by 10-15} than that of other local varieties, Now the variety has been popularized in large areas in Hebei province and cultivated successfully in Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong province.
